Mark, of Shallow Minded Guide Fishing, reports that flounder are being caught in the Cherry Grove area using mud minnows.
Black drum and trout have been found around Sunset Beach Bridge, in Dunn Sound, and the adjoining areas off the ICW. Vudu shrimp and other artificial baits have been effective.
Large over-slot redfish are being caught around the jetties using live pogies.
Patrick, of Captain Smiley Fishing Charters, reports that flounder fishing has picked up lately around Tubbs Inlet and Little River Inlet. Gulp baits are working, and large live mud minnows or Gulp croaker will catch the bigger fish.
Trout are being caught in the ICW using live shrimp and floats, as well as Vudu or DOA shrimp.
Big drum are being caught around Little River Inlet using live and cut pogies.
Bluefish and spanish mackerel are feeding along the nearshore reefs.

Larry, of Voyager Charters, reports that the offshore bottom fishing has been spectacular the past couple of weeks. Trips on the head boat have produced plenty of big grouper, beeliners, grunts, cobia, and African pompano (as well as a mahi on the light line).
Offshore, Gulf Stream trolling is seeing big mahi, wahoo, and blackfin tuna.
Areas 5-8 miles out have seen plenty of sea bass, porgies, and sharks, and trolling Clarkspoons a bit closer to the beach has produced nice-sized spanish mackerel as of late.
Matt, of Cherry Grove Pier, reports that bottom fishermen have been connecting with flounder, whiting, croaker, and perch. Pompano have begun to show up as well, with some nice catches reported the past week.
Spanish mackerel and bluefish are being caught on plugs and mackerel trees, with the best action happening during the afternoon.
Three king mackerel have been landed so far this year.
