Patrick, of Captain Smiley Fishing Charters, reports that there have been a lot of small black drum caught recently in the ICW on live and fresh cut shrimp. Anglers looking to target trout have had success with live shrimp under a popping cork, although many have also hooked up with the fish using topwaters.

There are a few red drum in the area, and those fish tend to be favoring live menhaden and mud minnows. Anglers trying to target flounder are having luck with mud minnows as well, but the flatfish can also be fooled with Gulp soft plastics.

Larry, of Voyager Fishing Charters, reports that offshore bottom fishing has been great the past few weeks, and anglers can expect to connect with snapper, porgies, grunts, amberjack, and large gag and scamp grouper.

The nearshore anglers have been hooking sea bass, small sharp-nosed sharks, and porgies.

The sport fishing boat has connected with spanish, bonito, and king mackerel. Look for these species, along with barracuda, near the Sherman Wreck and the Barges.

John, of Cherry Grove Pier, reports that anglers have caught whiting and croaker, along with some trout and pompano. A few flounder have been caught, and they are starting to have some size to them.

Many anglers are still connecting with spanish mackerel and targeting kings as well. A 30+ lb. jack crevelle was also reported.
