Fenwick HMG Rods

Fenwick has always been one of the most reputable brands of rod makers, and their HMG series has been a staple in both freshwater and saltwater markets over the past decade. While their last series of HMGs were met with fair disappointment due to component failures and shortcuts, the new models for 2017 feature improvements to quell consumer concern and live up to the historical Fenwick name.

First, and most importantly, the guide sets for all models have been replaced by trusted Fuji’s alconite/stainless guides. The result is a high performing, lightweight guide train that can hold up to the rigors of braided line and saltwater inshore fishing.

The new “alien touch” reel seat offers a smooth yet tacky grip, while featuring a secondary locking ring to prevent it from loosening even under the most strenuous battles with saltwater game.

Fenwick also added a new carbon-bound blank technology, providing an increased durability and forgiveness while achieving the exact actions that anglers have been asking for.

Available in both spinning and casting models, from 6’ to 7’6”, and even in a 3-piece travel version that features two different tip sections in one model, the new Fenwick HMG is truly a reborn legend worthy of every angler’s hand…and trust.
