Patrick Kelly, at Captain Smiley’s Fishing Charters, reports the fishing has been good despite the hot weather. Flounder are dominating the catch in Little River Inlet, with the bait of choice being a live mullet. Redfish are averaging 27 to 30 inches around the jetties, but the bite has been either on or off. Try live baits against the rocks or the Berkley gulp products. Other catches have been bluefish in the 18 to 20 inch range, jack crevalles, and small spanish mackerel from 14 inches and up.
