Pan Roasted Oyster Cocktail

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

When it comes to one of my favorite seafoods, it’s got to be oysters. In addition to their great taste, they are very good for you as well.

The following recipe is simple and makes a good appetizer for the holidays.

You will need:

1 large sauté pan

2 pints fresh oysters

1/2 stick butter

4 slices of smoked bacon cut into small pieces

your favorite hot sauce

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon BBQ sauce

1 large lemon for juice

Saltine crackers

To start, put the large sauté pan over a medium heat. When it’s pre-heated, add the smoked bacon cut into small pieces.

Once the bacon pieces start to brown, add the butter and oysters.

Keep an eye on the oysters. When they start to curl, add all the sauce ingredients into the pan and stir.

The amount of time you continue cooking the oysters depends on how well done you like your oysters. Oysters are usually done once the edges are curled.

Serve this oyster dish warm with Saltine crackers.
