Product Review – Finn Line

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

Braided fishing lines have dominated the inshore saltwater fishing market for years, and over the past 20 years, FINS has continued to raise the bar for braided fishing lines. Now FINS premium superlines has introduced the world’s first situational braided spectra fishing lines.

The new 40G line has the smallest diameter to strength ratio of all lines offered by FINS, and a unique composite gives the line a smooth “mono like” feel. The 40G is offered in chartreuse, blue, and white, and each is available in 5, 15, 25, 45, 65 and 85 lb. test options. The break statistics on the 45 lb. version have the line breaking without a knot at 61 lbs., and the diameter is equivalent to the diameter of 6 lb. mono. The 85 lb. braided line broke without a knot on average at 98 lbs., with a diameter equivalent to 12 lb. mono.

Perhaps FINS most well-known product, though, is the Windtamer braid. The Windtamer is 100% spectra braid with additional processing to result in a more user-friendly superline.

The line is treated by means of a proprietary process resulting in a compacted round and smooth structure with a firm body. Windtamer packs very well on reels without pulling into itself, and subsequently the line cuts through the wind and prevents tip wrapping.

Windtamer is specifically designed for inshore saltwater applications. This line, which all but eliminates wind knots and is a great casting line, is offered in slate green, hi-vis pink, hi-vis yellow, and white. It’s produced from a 4 lb. test all the way up to 200 lb. breaking strengths, and spools of 100-3000 yards are available.

And all of FINS braided line are made in the USA.
