Featuring the company’s SW technology that was previously exclusive to their flagship Stella line, Shimano’s new Twin Power SW spinning reels are engineered for overwhelming power, durability, and reliability when tackling some of the ocean’s toughest predators.

At the core of the reel’s host of modern technologies is the HAGANE design concept—combining a cold-forged aluminum drive gear, X-Ship pinion gear and spool shaft, and extremely rigid body to keep all the precision gearing in perfect alignment for the toughness and durability to withstand and thrive under continual use and extreme abuse.

The reel’s X-Rigid handles, gears, and rotors are combined with the body and drive gear to completely eliminate any reel flex, which robs anglers of power when they need it most—locked into battle with big fish at high drag settings.

Necessitating the toughness of the HAGANE X-Rigid systems, Shimano’s waterproof X-Tough Drag dishes out up to 62 lbs. of smooth, controllable pressure to put the brakes on bruiser tuna and other tackle-testing saltwater brutes.

Making sure the reels cast as smoothly as they fight fish are the Aero Wrap II and Propulsion Line Management technologies, which combine perfect line lay and a redesigned spool lip that are the end results of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations.

A one-way roller bearing eliminates handle backplay in the Twin Power SW series, creating instant hook-setting power whether a fish is inhaling a topwater popper or a vertical jig hundreds of feet below the boat. Eleven more S A-RB ball bearings offer extreme corrosion resistance and continue the theme of keeping the reels buttery smooth even under the harshest pressure.

Shimano Twin Power SW reels are available in 4000-14000 sizes, so there’s a reel perfect for everything from red drum to large tunas, wahoo, and other offshore beasts.
