Bobby, at Long Beach Pier, reports that if you bring live shrimp you can catch a lot of speckled trout up to around 4 lbs. More keeper sized flounder are showing up and anglers are doing better with mullet for bait but mud minnows will work as well.

Flounder up to 4.5 lbs. are being caught on mullet and chopper bluefish are still around on the rising tide. 2 to 4 lb. black drum and 1 to 3 lb. whiting are biting very well at night on sand fleas with smaller fish being caught during the day. Pompano, gray trout, and spanish mackerel are also making occasional appearances on the pier. Cobia up to 54 lbs. are being caught on the end while a 33 lb.
