Four Divisions: Bluefish, Flounder, Sea Mullet, and Pompano
Entry Fee: $60 per angler before September 16; $70 per angler after September 16 (one entry fee gets you in all four divisions except Slot Red Drum TWT)
Slot Red Drum TWT: $25 per angler (the Slot Red Drum TWT is optional–it is offered as another way for tournament participants to win money)
Over $8,000 in cash and prizes (based on 200 entries)
Boundaries: Must fish from a Hatteras Island beach.
No boats — No sound or pier fishing.
Five Weigh-in Locations: Hatteras Jack (Rodanthe), Frank & Fran’s (Avon), Red Drum Tackle (Buxton), Frisco Tackle (Frisco), and Teach’s Lair (Hatteras Village).
Tournament Headquarters: Camp Hatteras Conference Center, 24798 NC-12 (soundside), Rodanthe, NC 27968
Live Updates: There are three updates throughout the tournament weekend: Saturday 10:00 am; Saturday 8:00 pm; and Sunday 9:00 am. Updates will be posted in three places:
- Facebook: Latest updates will be posted to the top of our feed on the Fisherman’s Post Facebook page.
- Website: Latest updates will be posted on the Hatteras Surf Fishing Challenge Results page.
- Weigh-In Stations: Latest updates will be posted at each weigh-in station on the tournament whiteboard.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Registration: Friday, September 27, from 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm at Camp Hatteras Conference Center (everyone must stop by Registration/Tournament HQ to receive their tournament wrist band and have the band placed upon their wrist–no exceptions!)
Fish Time Starts: Friday, September 27, 12:00 midnight
Fish Time Ends: Sunday, September 29, 12:00 noon
Awards Dinner: Sunday, September 29, from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm at Camp Hatteras Conference Center, 24798 NC-12 (soundside), Rodanthe, NC 27968
Awards Ceremony: Sunday, September 29, at 2:30 pm at Camp Hatteras Conference Center
Tournament Raffle: Immediately following Awards

Slot Red Drum TWT ($25) is voluntary (offered as another way to win money), and payouts are based on 80 paid entries.
BIG RED HALL OF FAME
We want to celebrate all HISFC anglers that catch and release a citation red drum during tournament hours.
Honor System: Text us a photo of you and your citation red (with your tournament wrist band visible) to (910) 431-5521. Include your full name and the length of the fish.
All tournament citation anglers will be added to the Big Red Hall of Fame plaque, and the plaque will be displayed year round at Hatteras Jack.
Each year we will keep adding new names to the Big Red Hall of Fame plaque.
Hatteras Island Meals was established to provide nutritious meals for lunch four days a week to elderly or homebound clients on Hatteras Island. The organization is 100% donation funded, 100% volunteer staffed, and their mission is to serve anyone on Hatteras Island who is unable for whatever reason to prepare nutritious meals for themselves.
